Drawing Gratitude
I’m thankful for the people and places that have found their way into my sketchbook. Here’s a peek at a few photos from my sketching journeys.
It’s Thanksgiving in America, and I’m pausing my current travels to reflect on gratitude. I feel fortunate to be able to travel and make art in places near and exotic. Most of all, I treasure the chance to draw and spend time with the people I’ve met. Each sketch, each moment of presence, shapes my path.
I’m especially thankful for you, my subscribers, especially the paying ones 🙏🏼, who support, comment, encourage and keep my writing and image-making going.
By way of thanks, I’m sharing a selection of photographs that embody the gratitude I carry. I seldom share these, trusting that the drawings alone are enough to carry the story I want to tell. But here are some glimpses of my journey: pen in hand, with heart open.

Sorry… it’s so nice to travel and sketch places around the globe. Do you ever use your sketches for studio paintings later? Also, do you know if Frank Brangwyn kept journals?
Thank YOU for sharing your art and for highlighting the work of so many outstanding visual journalists and illustrators.
